What did ‘hunters’ gain from seals and whales? Whalers were able to gain riptide and start to recover their numbers. | Which areas did whalers and sealers congregate? Antipodes, Auckland, bounty, Campbell, Chatham, Macquarie and Snares islands. | What nationality were most sealers and whalers? In the 1830s the french whaling ships turned up in significant numbers. |
